![]() What to do in Freeport, Bahamas? So many people stay on the cruise ship when going to Freeport Bahamas. Why would you do that? Did you know if you leave the container port there is sooo much to do & see? You need to have a sense of adventure and get out there and explore!! So here are some things to do in Freeport. Head over to The Lucayan National Park! Bens Cave is a dive place, but you can walk to it & look at it. There is also a Burial Mound Cave there – so much in one park! If you're going shopping or want food and drink then going to the Port Lucaya Market place, is much better than the skimpy one at the port, & the buildings are oh so very prettily painted. You can shop there, wander thru Count Basie square, or find a nice place to eat. There is a casino there, but don’t play, you'll have much better luck on the ship! Garden of the Groves is another place to visit & worth the time. OR... rent a car & find an empty beach to relax on! One of the neatest (and super cheap) places to visit in the Bahamas is The Deadman's Cove! While the name may sound scary, this place totally ROCKS!!! Check out their website: www.deadmansreef.com and enjoy the excursion. They offer some of the best snorkeling in the Bahamas and for only $35, you can spend the day on their quiet, secluded beach, snorkel, enjoy lunch and a rum drink. This is a steal! We had such a blast here, just don't lose Grandma! We went with my family and somehow my parents got separate....so Grandpa panicked, but Grandma was there all along, snorkeling happily on the other side of the reef! The price is phenomenal, the snorkeling amazing, the food delicious, and the beach is so pretty. You'll thank me for giving you this tip, go check this place out!
