COUNT DOWN TO VACATION TIME!
BEFORE YOU GO- ROYAL CARIBBEAN VACATION GENERAL INFORMATION-
Thank you so much for allowing Escape Destinations Travel the opportunity to plan and book your wonderful family vacation! This will be a wonderful time to create lasting family memories together!! It is right around the corner!
I have put together some brief information to help get you started in preparing for your terrific trip! As always, I am here to steer you in the right direction, or answer any additional questions you may have.
Cruise lines no longer mail out paper documents to travelers. All documents are now electronic and typically available for you to print about 3 weeks prior to sailing. Luggage tags will be available and provided to you at the pier.
GRATUITIES AND TIPS-
Gratuities on most cruises are typically from $10 - $14 per person per day and will be added automatically to your onboard account. You also have the option to pre-pay for this prior to setting sail!
Your dining confirmation is a request, not a guarantee. You may need to
re-confirm your dining preference with the Maitre’d upon boarding on the day of sailing. We will work to get all of your family together for the early dining of 6 p.m. Any dietary options will be shared with the Royal Caribbean Staff.
PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP-
It is your responsibility to provide proof of citizenship. All U.S. citizens must have a valid U.S. passport or state issued birth certificate (original or certified copy) with a valid government issued I.D. (such as a driver's license). Your passport or government identification must match your name on the reservation, exactly, including the spelling.
Passports are required for all flights leaving the U.S. All married women are required to have their Marriage License with them as part of their documents, when using a birth certificate. Passports are required for all cruises starting June 1, 2009. Passport requirement does not apply to U.S. citizens who have a "closed looped sailing" which is a sailing that departs and returns to the same U.S. port.
Please see http://travel.state.gov for more information. Aliens who are
permanent residents of the U.S. or any non-U.S. citizens should contact their respective embassies or U.S. Immigration directly for applicable regulations.
ROYAL CARIBBEAN TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION-
The following link, details what specifically is needed for Royal Caribbean cruises:
If you are prone to motion sickness while out to sea, your Dr. can prescribe motion sickness tablets, the patch (which is worn behind your ear) or you can simply purchase over the counter motion sickness tablets. We strongly recommend the patch, as you wear it behind your ear (as a preventative) and simply change it out every 3 days! We don't board a ship without ours!
We strongly recommend Travel Insurance. Check out this article on cruise critic, which highlights the pros and cons of having cruise travel insurance.
Information is found on RC’s website on beverage packages for your purchase. The soda passes are a good value, if you drink a few glasses of soda a day, otherwise your soda can be charged per glass. Coffee, tea, water and lemonade are free!
Check out the excursions offered by the cruise line on www.royalcaribbean or consider some offered through our travel agents. They both have some terrific opportunities to see Bermuda! Or just consider venturing out on your own to discover this quaint island. Bermuda offers miles of sandy, beautiful beaches and small shops to browse, restaurants to partake of great food and parks to play in.
