My step-dad Kevin had to get up early to get his work friend, Tommy from the airport. It gave mom and I some time to relax and get ready for our awesome day!
We took our time packing for the next adventure to a new hotel, then got dressed and went down for another awesome breakfast (Fruhstuck) at the awesome hotel breakfast. Then the men showed up, so we ate again! We drank some fabulous German Coffee...which was to die for, if you haven't tried European Coffees, you are missing out! We checked out, and drove to our next hotel. I got to know Tommy (what a true blessing he is), and what a real pleasurable travel companion he was! I understand why so many people fall in Love with Tommy, what a sweet gentleman. Opening doors for mom and I, getting our luggage out, etc. Always so much fun to spend time with and such a funny, genuine, sweet man.
We spent the next several hours driving up the Rhine River, so I could take TONS of Castle Pictures (can you ever see too many castles? I think NOT). We stopped near the Lorelei myth/rock at the mountain side, we had drinks and yummy French fries (pommes frites). Then we slowly continued up the Rhine river, as we did so, night began to fall and the fog began to roll in. I will never forget the castles and the spectacular views as the fog came in, what a spooky yet amazing site! If you're never traveled the Rhine River, you simply must take a day and do so! We went down the other side of the river and decided to stop at a super sweet little restaurant in Rudesheim (great spot on the river to stop and rest). I ordered Jaeger Schnitzel again (I can never have too much) and it was absolutely fantastic!! The meal and company was awesome! We headed back to the hotel and then got ready for bed so we could hit the adventures in the morning! The weather was a bit gloomy today, but who cares.....we're in Germany and what a dream!
