![]() A Brief Spotlight on… PARIS! Well, everyone has heard of the Eiffel Tower, Oui? Do you know that the same architect , Bartholdi, also designed our very own Statue of Liberty. One man, two great icons! Incredible. And speaking of icons, the front of Notre Dame is truly depicting select parts of the Bible, written in Stone. If by some chance, you are illiterate (like most medieval churchgoers were), the carvings over the main doors will show you the right way, the wrong way, the consequences and the judgment day (in the center of the façade)! Be sure to take the walking tour to get the whole story explained to you. Don’t forget to stroll in the beautiful Tuileries, the gardens extending south of the Palais Royale and the Louvre. On a nice day in the spring, you might just be able to enjoy a chocolate éclair and tea in your Shirt sleeves. Walk all the way down to the Place de la Concorde, today a major traffic headache. In days past, Marie Antoinette and countless others unfortunately met the superbly efficient guillotine there. It is said that the smell of the revolution lingered in the air for so long that cattle refused to cross the Place for several years. Yuck! Just across the street you’ll see the American embassy, the mansion given to our government by the beautiful heiress who also financed the redesign of Jackson Square in lovely New Orleans. Need more of Paris than we've mentioned here, consider a tour or vacation through Paris one day soon!
