Another fabulous day!
We went to a small/local church where we met the sweetest lady! She told us she was 89 years old and briefly shared her personal story of being displaced by the war when she was studying at the university in Wurzburg, Germany. She said Wurzburg was heavily bombed during the war, so she moved to this area to be a school teacher with her husband. What a powerful story!! She was so warm and welcoming, truly a nice German woman who enjoyed sharing her country, her church and her personal story with us. I hated to leave her, what a powerful story she had...it seemed like she wanted us to stay a bit longer to chat as well. I wish I would have had a picture taken with her. Such a sweet-kindred soul! After our lovely detour, we headed to Weiden for a little bit of shopping and a yummy lunch. Back again tonight to the Italian restaurant (since it was so good last night) for another super nice meal. I had goulash suppe and rigatoni with shrimp. Yummy! Such wonderful food can be had all over Germany!
