Carnival Bans Bottled Water and Bottled Sodas!
By Jen Campbell of Escape Destinations Travel
Effective July 9, 2015 if you’re traveling on a cruise with Carnival, you will no longer be allowed to bring bottled water or bottled sodas on board. The reason….Carnival says it bogs down the process of embarkation, and guests attempt to smuggle alcohol on board, which is causing their security headaches to inspect each beverage.
However, when we booked our recent Carnival cruise this past month, we discovered they had bottled water (a 12 pack) available on board for only $2.99 in the fun shops (or if you wait until you’re on board it goes up to $4.99 plus gratuities). To me, this definitely beats having to lug it on board with my carry-on luggage and is just about the same price as in the grocery store. Not a bad deal!
The Skinny on the Changes:
If you have a C-Pap Machine, you may bring distilled water on board to be used with your machine.
Nursery water for small babies is also permitted, provided the child is with you, of course.
