![]() Our new friend we met yesterday at the consignment shop, Alicia, offered to take us up to the castle (the one that’s viewable outside my hotel room window). We discovered it was none other than Burg Nanstein. We jumped at the offer, as we were downtown yesterday and couldn’t quite figure out how to make it up to the castle on foot....here was our way to check it out! So, the three of us headed up to Burg Nanstein, with Alicia at the wheel. She showed us around the ruins of the castle, and shared her time in Germany with us. I loved the underground rooms and areas around the castle that hadn't been demolished. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the castle's small, quaint restaurant right there on the hillside. What a yummy lunch, I enjoyed an Apfelsaftschoerle (Apple Juice with Mineral Water) with my yummy wurst meal! We finished walking around the castle where I took tons of pictures, then made our way back down the hill to the consignment shop. We found a dollar store type German store that was very interesting, hit a few more shops and then a fabulous dinner. Yes, I ate Jaegerschnitzel again, then Aviator Lounge again for drinks...why not? What a super fabulous vacation this has been! I'm loving my time in Germany, and I could seriously move to the Landstuhl area.
