Spotlight on … The Amazing Amalfi Coast
What makes this region so very appealing? How about drop-dead gorgeous scenery to start? You can take it in from either the tortuous, windy road hewn into the mountainside or from the numerous hydrofoils and ferries that ply the coast. If you try the road, you might want to take the public bus — it has the right of way on those hairpin turns. It’s never the one that has to back up or pull over. Luckily, every one drives pretty slowly, so death does not feel imminent! Sorrento makes a good base. It marks the end of the train line from Naples & from there, it’s an easy hop to Positano or Capri.
Positano: surely someone must have designed the postcard first & then built the town clinging to the hillsides to match! This is a vertical place of pinks, yellows & whites; a public bus can transport the weary up & down the hill. Ceramics, fashions & the magnificent views draw day trippers & shoppers alike. If you can spend the night, so much better. Looking out from the hillside at sunset to that crystalline water with a nice glass of something to sip, makes for a perfect moment. Then, too, so does the romantic boat rides at dusk, whisking you back to Sorrento under a full moon.
Don’t forget to check out Amalfi, located a bit further down the coast. It’s absolutely beautiful and worth the drive!
Hey…while you’re at it, don’t forget Pompeii, it’s only a quick 30 minutes by train from Sorrento. Absolutely as amazing as they say!!
An All Inclusive Resort or a traditional Cruise?
By Jen Campbell of Escape Destinations Travel
So what is the hype? Why the debate on which is preferred? Let’s go into further details so you can choose for yourself which one might meet your needs better!
An all inclusive resort includes everything! It’s not a la carte pricing like a cruise might be. With an all inclusive, it’s true that what you see is what you get. A cruise might offer you a very low up-front cost for you, but then there are so many extras that get added in there. Drinks, shore excursions, tips and gratuities, optional dining venues….it just makes sense to consider a true all inclusive, whereby the price is all inclusive, nothing hidden or extra to contend with. Some of us are truly getting tired of getting nickled and dimed to death, and with an all inclusive, you know exactly going into the vacation what your total cost would be.
An all inclusive has an appeal to many people: couples, honeymooners, families, destination and wedding groups, groups, etc.
If you’re a family, the all inclusive property offers the entire family wonderful amenities and activities for nearly every age group. Kids can chow all day, and play all day and you’re not paying for anything extra, it’s all included.
For couples and honeymooners, this type of vacation is truly relaxing. You don’t have to worry about planning that next excursion, where to go when you get off the ship, and where to have dinner each night. This is a less stressful vacation, because decisions are already made, you’re forced to show up and simply relax and enjoy your stay, without the hustle and bustle of a ship and their various, constant activities. Especially after the stress of planning a wedding, honeymooners can simply relax and enjoy each other.
Whichever vacation type you decide, it will be worth it in the end. We all deserve a much needed break to recharge and refresh ourselves from the everyday hustle and bustle!

What is a Single Supplement?
Cruise lines generally charge a "single supplement" to passengers who choose to travel solo. From the cruise line's perspective, what they’re selling is essentially cabin space, and if there’s two or more people in a cabin, they split the cost of that space and can sell more space. People traveling alone pay for all the space by themselves….thus the cruise lines are losing money.
Most cruise lines start with the per-person rate based on a double occupancy and add 50-100% to the price for a single person sailing. For Example: a cabin that sells for $1,000 per person based on double occupancy would be sold to a single for $1,500 to $2,000….OUCH!!
At Escape Destinations Travel, we're very sympathetic to our single customers' desires for a super great price and we’ll research until we find it for you! Why should single travelers have to pay double the cost to travel solo on cruises? To us, this just seems so very unfair!!
We've scoured more than 25,000 departures to identify and secure the absolute lowest single supplements for our clients, including fabulous cabins that can be reserved by our single customers with no supplement at all. Allow us to find these special cruise fares for you today! It’s what we specialize in!

My daughter and I were able to travel on Carnival’s Victory ship for 4 nights from Miami to Key West and Cozumel for a Girl’s Only Cruise and had an absolute blast! We loved the ship, Carnival Victory and would sail on it again, it was fabulous!!
While the ship was a bit older, it had 3 (or 4) pools, at least 7 hot tubs, an quiet adults only serenity area, wonderful water slide, 2 dining rooms, large outdoor movie screen, mini golf, large promenade area, superb service and so much more!
We headed to Key West on Friday, while it was super hot, we were able to jet set down to the main street where nice little boutiques, shops, quaint restaurants and cafes were all around. We stopped in at the wonderful Kermit’s Café for the best rated Key Lime Pie around. Although the price for a slice of Key Lime Pie was moderately priced, it was truly the best Key Lime Pie we'd ever tasted!
Cozumel was wonderful, but again HOT! We spent the day at a wonderful resort, Paradise Beach Resort, where for one low price ($3 a piece) we could enjoy a great beach, superb and magnificently oversized pool with lounge chairs in the pool, and we crossed something off our bucket list, Jet Ski’s! If you're in Cozumel, check out Paradise Beach Resort!
It was back to the ship for great comedy, wonderful dining room meals, of course food 24/7, lounging by the pool, shows and movies in the evening on deck. What a fabulous trip it was, making some wonderful memories to last a lifetime! If you have the chance to check out Carnival Victory on your cruise travels, enjoy it. It certainly gave me a new found appreciation for Carnival Cruise Lines. I am now a sold customer!
