NEVER AGAIN- ACTIVITIES PROHIBITED ON CRUISE SHIPS!

Some things are truly a thing of the past on nearly all cruise ships, see why below:

  1. Celebrations with Streamers on Sail Away! Why? Because of the littering at sea- now it’s a huge “no-no”.

  2. Hitting Golf Balls into the Ocean! The 1990 International Maritime Organization passed the law of dumping plastic waste into the sea. However, some cruise lines still have biodegradable golf balls made of fish food.

  3. Message in a Bottle! Distant relatives won’t be able to find you this way. While some actually heard from others, this wasteful practice was ended over a decade ago.

  4. Smoking in The Dining Room and your Stateroom! Virtually all cruise lines have ended this practice, you cannot even get away with it on your own balcony. There are set areas designated as smoking areas on most all ships now though.

  5. Skeet Shooting off the Side of the Ship! Can you believe you could once do this for approximately $1 a shot. Not anymore, it’s not allowed, perhaps due to waste overboard as well.

  6. Visits On Board! Used to, friends of passengers could check out the ship themselves on embarkation day, but tighter security measures in recent years has prohibited this on most all cruise lines.
Princess Cruise Lines still has a Bon Voyage Experience, for around $40 (to include lunch on board) you can check out the ship for 4 hours, and the first 50 guests are only allowed, and the cost of the short trip can be applied towards a future cruise on their cruise line.
