An Intimate Germany Tour- Fall of 2017!
Day 1-
Arrival at Frankfurt airport; ride to Heidelberg, visit the famous castle and the old town center. Lunch in Heidelberg. Continue to Speyer to see the world´s largest Roman cathedral at the historic picturesque town center.
Check in to your modern hotel in Speyer, where we'll stay for 2 nights. This hotel is in a quaint location in the beautiful town of Speyer.
Take a leisurely stroll down to the “main street” with numerous shops, great restaurants, bakery and cafes.
The classy and elegant rooms with modern washrooms are only topped by the wonderful breakfast buffet. Time to relax and explore Speyer.

Day 2-
Today you will visit the “German wine road”, enjoy a wine tasting and tour a romantic, incredible Rhine Valley Winery.
Day 3-
Ride to Rothenburg ob der Tauber in the morning (The Romantic Road); walk the medieval town center, see the town hall and the beautiful market square. A walk through Käthe Wohlfahrt´s famous Christmas store is a “must”, when visiting Rothenburg…we’ll make sure we stop by for some wonderful souvenirs.
After lunch, your tour will continue to the Bavarian Alps and the quintessential German city of Füssen.
Enjoy 2 Nights stay in the Alps. We'll explore beautiful Füssen, otherwise known as the kings nook of Allgau, the land of lakes, castles, ruins and mountains. If you listen really closely, you might hear the alpine cows returning home for their evening meal and milking. Your hotel is a beautiful, elegant mansion nestled in a huge garden with panoramic Alpine views (formerly used as a recreation home for nuns). This hotel was transformed into a hotel just a few years ago. Anyone for a game of Billards?
Comfortable rooms with washrooms and a good breakfast buffet will await you for your 2 night stay.
Day 4-
In the morning you will visit the world famous castle Neuschwanstein; enjoy your English guided inside the castle tour and leisurely stroll by the magnificent Castle Hohenschwangau.
Afterwords you will continue to the alpine village of Garmisch- Partenkirchen. And we’ll stop to visit the Linderhof Palace on the way. In gorgeous Garmisch we’ll enjoy a cable car/ gondola ride up the Alps, for scenic panoramic views.
Day 5-
A full day to explore the highlights of Munich: Mary´s square with town hall and “Glockenspiel”, Munich cathedral, the Royal residence, opera house and of course “the Hofbräuhaus”, Munich´s famous beer hall.
As an option we can add a trip to the ultra-modern BMW world and/or the concentration camp memorial site at Dachau.
Enjoy a wonderful night’s stay in a nice, quaint German hotel in Munich. This local hotel, is in a very calm neighborhood right next to the beautiful castle Oberschleißheim, where you can leisurely stroll their their magnificent royal gardens. Comfortable rooms and a huge breakfast buffet, as well as a beautiful heated indoor pool, sauna and bowling alley, guarantee your relaxing stay.
The restaurant just next door is absolutely AMAZING!! (offering authentic German food, of course.)
Day 6-
In the morning we’ll visit even more sites in Munich; then around lunchtime we’ll reach the much anticipated: Oktoberfest! Walk the festive festival ground, enter several different beer tents run by different breweries, drink a full "Bierstein" (or 2) and get the “typical” Oktoberfest lunch: grilled chicken.
We’ll explore a couple Oktoberfest tents (should you wish to partake) to enjoy all the festivities in the beer tents. There’s also many amusement park rides, oomph-pa-pa music, yummy food and lots of authentic German Bavarian Attire: dirndls and lederhosen to admire. Feel free to pack your own costume to wear to the event! If you don't...you'll definitely feel a bit out of place.
In the late afternoon, your tour will continue to Austria and the area of Salzburg.
Your next 2 nights, we’ll stay at a beautiful “Alpine Chalet Style” hotel near spectacular Salzburg. This very pretty new “Pension” has spacious rooms and modern washrooms. The hotel looks like it just opened, even with it being about 4 or 5 years old. A very nice stay; always top rated by many guests.
A German restaurant (just a short 3 minute walk down the road) is another amazing meal!!
Day 7-
Explore the highlights of Salzburg, visit the famous cathedral, fortress Hohensalzberg, follow in Mozart´s actual footsteps and check out some “Sound of Music sites”.
In the afternoon you will enjoy the most scenic, romantic and relaxing boat ride on Lake Königssee.
A visit at the historic salt mine Bertechsgaden is also on the list! Enjoy a scenic panoramic Alpine view while having “dessert” at the famous cream puff place! So Yummy!
Day 8-
This morning your tour will continue to Nuremberg and Würzburg. Visit Nuremberg´s old town center; stop over at the infamous Nazi parade grounds (Zeppenin field) or at the palace of justice, where the Nazi trials where held in “courtroom 600” after WW2.
A really “hidden gem” in Nuremberg is the cemetery “Johannesfriedhof”.... something you most certainly haven´t seen before and we’ll visit on our tour.
After a delicious lunch, your tour continues to Würzburg. If time allows, you might tour the Royal residence (on a guided inside tour). Then the tour continues to the small village of Wertheim.
This evening we’ll plan to stay at a charming Hotel & Wine Cellar, right in the old town center of Marktheidenfeld. Just a few minutes to walk to the charming market place, the town center and to the Main river. This picturesque small village is the perfect place for a calm, relaxing overnight stay.
Day 9-
Now your tour will lead you to the Unesco world heritage “Rhine valley”. The romantic stretch between Rüdesheim and Koblenz is supposed to be the most scenic part of the Rhine valley, covered with countless castle ruins and exquisite vineyards.
After exploring Rüdesheim, we enter our wonderful cruise ship to enjoy a beautiful 2 ½ hour cruise ride along the Rhine river.
For our last night we plan to stay in the small castle town in Kastellaun. This wonderful accommodation offers modern rooms and washrooms, and is located in a park- like serene, historic area just outside the beautiful medieval castle- always worth a stroll to see.
For the “last supper”, we’lI make plans to book a table at the medieval tavern-definitely a meal you won't want to miss.
Day 10-
A sad day indeed…departure home with sweet, lasting Germany memories! Time to plan our next amazing trip!

Costs:
-Tour Price per adult (in a group with approximately 20 travelers): $1,700
- Rates are based upon double occupancy. Single supplement (to book a room solo)-Is an additional $400 to the price above.
- 20% down payment ($340 per person) is due, final payment due 60 days prior to travel.

- 100% “Cancellation for Any Reason Option” prior to 3/1/17. This will allow us time to determine the exact number of bookings/pricing received.
